For more than 30 years in the legal profession, I have learned lessons that no textbook records and no classroom can truly teach. Real practice—day after day, case after case—has taught me that the legal profession is an essential pillar of the justice system, deeply intertwined with the rights, freedoms, property, and fairness that shape people’s lives.
For this reason, the phrase “a good lawyer” is not defined merely by profound legal knowledge. To me, the legal profession rests on three fundamental pillars:
